Manta ray, black tip shark, octopus, eel, coral, and reef fish await.
A walk round the water bungalow and water platform of the Sofitel Hotel, Bora Bora Island, French Polynesia. Seen are the lagoon and atoll of Bora Bora island, the private Sofitel Motu island and the neighbouring Hotel Intercontinental (as featured on the Intercontinental global marketing campaign). The water bungalow has a glass floor, its own diving platform and private verandah. Heaven on Earth.
In French Polynesia the jewel of the South Pacific Ocean is Tahiti, with it's 180 islands towering over the ocean like a royal Queen, crowned by a circle of majestic peaks. Our journey took us far out of the capital Papeete into another world and space - to Teahupo'o. Physically nothings changed since the 60ties, Tahiti remains paradise -- with friendly locals and turquoise warm water. But there's more than a challenging wave rolling over the coral reef -- it's the heaviest wave in the world -- and that's what waits at "the end of the road."

DC presents Robbie “Maddo” Maddison’s “Pipe Dream,” giving the world a chance to witness history being made as Maddo rides his dirt bike on the powerful and iconic waves of Tahiti. From his helmet to motocross boots, Maddo was dressed for FMX when he took his dirt bike into the unchartered saltwater terrain of the Pacific Ocean in French Polynesia. For nearly two years Robbie has been focused on making surfing on his motorbike a reality. His efforts paid off in Tahiti, where he rode the world famous waves at Teahupoo and Papara. Our visit to Bora Bora turned into an amazing under the water adventure. We were a bit apprehensive given the island's touristy reputation, but the snorkeling was some of the best we’d ever seen. The water was crystal clear, there were fish everywhere and Amy’s biggest dream came true when we got to swim with Manta Ray’s! All in all, we did 6 snorkel trips + 1 dive trip, swimming with all manner of black tipped reef sharks, lemon sharks, barracudas, sting rays and more fish than we could keep track of! It wasn’t all fun in paradise though as we had to get creative to fill our butane bottle and got to experience the joy of South Pacific time trying to clear out of French Polynesia. But after three months in French Polynesia, the good definitely outweighed the bad and Bora Bora helped u...
